Highlights:
- Alchemy AgentCard gives agents Visa tokens, email, phone, and wallet access.
- Developers can set merchant limits, budgets, and transaction rules in real time.
- Agent payment tools now span Visa, Mastercard, USDC, and EVM blockchain rails.
Blockchain infrastructure provider Alchemy launched AgentCard integration with Visa Intelligent Commerce to help AI agents make online purchases for users. The product gives agents a payment token, email address, phone number, and crypto wallet through one API. As a result, developers can prepare an agent for commerce tasks in less than one minute.
The company said AgentCard works with models from providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Therefore, developers can use it across different agent frameworks. The service targets consumer and business use cases, including travel bookings, grocery orders, and subscription renewals.
Visa Intelligent Commerce supports the card-based payment layer. Through the integration, agents can use Visa tokens while users keep card rewards, credit lines, and benefits. The setup also avoids fresh account credentials for every agent payment task.
Chief Executive Nikil Viswanathan said AI agents need access to the global economy. He compared the shift with earlier moves that created online businesses and mobile apps. The product now gives developers a starting point for agent commerce.

Spend Controls Sit at the Center of the Product Flow
AgentCard adds several guardrails for automated spending. Users and developers can set merchant category restrictions, transaction caps, and budgets during setup. In addition, they can adjust those controls as agent activity changes.
The product defaults to tokenized card payments. However, it can route transactions through emerging agent payment protocols, including crypto rails where merchants accept them. The routing layer selects the available option and can fall back to single-use tokens.
That design offers an achievable way for agents to get into online commerce. At the same time, it retains payment permissions linked to user-defined rules. Visa said trusted identities and smooth transactions will be key as agents take on more commerce tasks.
Each agent also receives an email address at agentcard.email. The product provides a new phone number as well. These details help agents sign up for services, receive verification codes, and manage accounts under dedicated credentials.
Agent Payment Products Gather Pace Across Crypto and Cards
The launch follows a busy period for agent commerce products. In April 2026, the company introduced AgentPay, a companion service for cross-protocol interoperability across AI payment systems. AgentCard now adds a fuller identity and card payment layer.

Other firms have also moved into the same area. MoonPay launched MoonAgents Card, a virtual Mastercard debit card for users and AI agents. MoonPay said the card converts crypto into fiat at checkout. Therefore, agents can spend stablecoins at online merchants that accept Mastercard. The product also connects directly with on-chain wallets.
Stripe has pushed a different route through x402 on Base. The system lets AI agents pay with Circle’s USDC stablecoin. Stripe framed the release as part of a broader shift toward agent-based internet activity.
World Liberty Financial also entered the market with AgentPay SDK on March 20. The SDK lets agents hold assets and execute payments across EVM blockchains. It also adds spending limits and balance checks for automated crypto activity.
